HPSwap is sponsoring the Non Profit RED Eye at this event – and there is a suggested donation of $10 at the door upon entry.
This is a Free event, and the donation is not required. You can decline to donate and come into the swap event.
Donors will receive a raffle ticket for a Special Pre-Swap Ticket Prize (Top Swap) – Additional raffle tickets will be available for purchase with all monies received for those raffles going directly to Red Eye.
The Event will include an an Open Swap Area, Guest Lounge Area and marketplace with Vendors offering handmade items and gifts or other items, and a Swap Room. Bring some cash and take care of some Holiday Shopping. You might find something special. Support our vendors - they make it possible to offer this event and make it free and open to everyone.
Everyone is welcome to participate in the swap – whether or not they contribute any swap items. In the interest of fairness and equity – there will be a Swap Schedule. This is to ensure that people who contribute and arrive on time will have the opportunity to swap first.
At the beginning of the swap – everyone will be restricted to a certain number of items that they can take from the swap. This is to ensure that everyone gets a chance at the swap items.
The last phase of the swap opens up to everyone, and you can take whatever you like / and as much as you like.
The Event Starts at 12:00 noon
Drop Off of Swap Items from 12:00 to 1:20 pm to be included in the PreSwap or First SWAP. To qualify for these swaps you should bring at least a full bag of clothing or swap items ( 1 regular paper grocery bag or 10 items). IF you don't have quite that much - bring a smaller bag filled with the swap items you donate to the swap - you can fill that size bag until the Open Swap begins.
Raffles for Pre Swap Tickets will be at 1:30 p.m. There will be at least 1 Door Prize raffle ( everyone gets a ticket at entry to the event -its free.) And at least 1 Charity Raffle Pre Swap Ticket Prize.
Pre Swap will open at 1:40 p.m. and go until 2:00 pm. Some of the Pre Swap Tickets will be awarded to winners of the raffles. Other Pre Swap tickets will be handed out to those who Qualify for the Pre Swap. See Top Swap Qualify Rules Below.
First SWAP will open at 2:00 pm --- swappers will each be able to fill 1 bag ( up to 10 items) during this time and through the end of Second SWAP.
If you arrive after 1:20 pm to drop off your swap items - you will be able to get into the swap area at the beginning of the Second SWAP - Everyone is allowed to fill up 1 bag ( up to 10 items) to the end of the Second Swap.
Second SWAP will open at 2:30 pm.
OPEN SWAP will begin at 3:00 pm --- At this point the swap is open to everyone. You can take what ever you like / as much as you like – regardless of how much you brought or if you brought anything at all to the swap.
The Swap Will Close at 5:00 pm.
Swappers are encouraged to bring their own bags to the swap…. There is an allowance for 1 bag to be filled ( up to 10 items) to the end of the Second Swap …. The size of a standard paper grocery bag. ** ALSO - It's helpful to bring some items on hangers.**
Open Swap has no limits to the number of items you can take from the swap.
Swap Items To Bring - Anything Clean and in Good Condition. Nice things you would give to friend please - nothing with stains or that is torn or broken. Clothes / Books / Shoes / Accessories / Toys / Games / CD's / DVD's / Home Decor / Holiday Items and Decor / Tree Ornaments / Unused Wrapping Paper and Ribbons / Unused Holiday Cards ... anything you no longer need, use or want.
There is a special & sealed off Swap Area at this event - it will include clothing, accessories and smaller items. That is the controlled swap area.
OPEN SWAP - Any overflow or larger items that do not fit in that swap area will be put in another area which is open and can acomodate larger items. ( Much of the holiday decor and items may go here as well). The open swap areas are not subject to the schedule - they are open and free - with no limitations or restrictions. They will be more like "Freecycle" areas. Open Swap Areas may be outside on the patio or just inside the entrance in a guest lounge area.
TOP SWAP + QUALIFY RULES
TOP SWAP ---- there will be a Special Pre Swap for a small number of swapper before the First Swap begins. This group will get first chance at the swap items. The pre-swap allowance is limited to 5 items for each Swapper.
There are a limited number of spaces allotted for this swap. Some of the tickets will be raffled off. For the remaining tickets - in order to qualify to be considered for the Pre Swap you need to 1) sign up as a member of the HPSwap Social Community and Set Up your Profile Page. 2) Post Photos of the items you will bring to the swap, including items that qualify you for the Top Swap. Post the items in the PHOTOS Page and Create a Folder to put them into with the title " (your name)'s Items for 11-15 Swap. "

To be eligible to participate in the Top Swap – you must be a member of the HPSwap Social Community Website, have posted a Profile and some Photos of items you will bring to the swap.
The premise for the Top Swap is that there are some people who bring the best items – designer items, items which are new and never used, items of a higher value… and because they bring the best items, they should get first choice of the items available.
There will also be a few Pre Swap tickets awarded as prizes or auctioned off and announced just before the Pre Swap Opens. (Raffle ticket purchased from the sponsored charity for these tickets).
Everyone interested in participating in the PreSwap needs to check in by … 1:20 pm --- with their swap items. An alternate waiting list will be kept in case people awarded top swap tickets do not show up or are late – alternates will be notified they are on the waiting list and should check in before the Pre Swap begins to find out if they got a spot.
There is no minimum sign-up required for the Pre Swap. If only 1 or a few people are involved in the Pre swap ( or there is only 1 winner of a Top Swap Ticket as a result of a raffle prize) –the top swap will stand.
