*Come Welcome the Spring Season with a Celebration of Renewal*
Join us on Sunday, March 21st for a comfy house party here on Killion Street.
If you haven't attended one of these parties before, here's the basic info:
Low priced handmade clothes & bags
Free food & drinks
People of all ages
Board game play
FREE CLOTHES- donation bin to give or take from
And here are the lengthy details:
I recycle clothes. People donate their unwanted or damaged clothes, fabrics, buttons, linens and thread to me, and I cut them up, sew them up, and turn them into something new. I do have an Etsy site but I prefer that people come look at and try on my stuff in person so I have these house parties. I provide homemade & healthy snacks, beer & wine, a wide range of old vinyl records to listen to, some board games to play, and a general comfortable atmosphere for people to hang out, browse through my stuff and have a good time. There is also a donation bin for people to contribute unwanted clothes or acquire free clothes from. I encourage people to bring others- the young and the old, the conservatives and the liberals, the co-workers and the co-pilots, your friends, your family, your neighbors. Everyone is welcome, especially those in need.
I am sharing some quick picks of 4 new bags I have made recently, and soon I will also have new clothes to share with you as well. Keep checking back!
If you've been to any of these parties before, you'll know that I have been having them once a month, but I am back to work at the office and life is ever-changing. This party will be the first of my now quarterly parties. No more one per month, I will now just be having these every 3 months, or, 4 times a year, or, seasonally. So if you think "oh, I’ll just come next time", you may want to re-think that because the next one probably won’t be till June.
So come join us for the Spring Party, celebrate the Renewal of your wardrobe, and the Renewal of Life on Earth, and HAVE A GOOD TIME.
The party is in North Hollywood, CA.
Sunday, March 21st
12:00 noon through about 8 pm.
A side note:
>>Lately the donation bin has been overwhelming, so things that are still in good condition I am donating to the Los Angeles Mission, and they give to the local poor, homeless or addicted. I try to pass on the good wearable stuff and use up the stained, ripped, or shrunk stuff for my creations. Also, if anyone knows of a place I can donate clothes to that has no religious affiliation and will not re-sell them, I would really like to know about it.
Mawed says: Re-Use! Re-Cycle! You design your world. Make the choice.
You are encouraged to bring co-workers, friends, strangers, children, parents, bosses, and anyone is welcome (but we do have cats and they dont like dogs).
This event is free, and its a lot of fun.
Also- please bring any clothes, purses, fabrics, threads that you are disposing of and throw them in the FREE bin. This way anyone who attends might be able to pick something up without spending any money.
* But Mawed Said people are Giving more than they are Taking - so PLEASE come and look through the free bin / free swap items - and take anything you like ---you don't need to bring anything to swap.
Just come have fun , and take what you like...
It's like a Clothing Exchange / Art Showing / House Party - and its a lot of fun.
